Education
Movement has been my outlet in life since I was little. Growing up on 12 acres of land, in the desert Mesas of New Mexico didn't leave much room for activities other than playing outdoors. That is something I never had an issue with. I can still think back to being a little girl, waking up with the sun, throwing on my favorite pair of boots and setting out to go on adventures with my pups. With the sun beating against my back I'd run, climb, and explore the land with my imagination setting the stage for adventures filled with magic, super heroes and mysticism. The rugged desert was my play pen and it was within that playpen that I grew strong, and my need and love for movement was nurtured.

After I completed my home schooling, I move to the a bugger city in NM, in search of what was to be my "career." I worked in the hospitality and even worked a few years as a security guard for a Cowboy bar! I eventually transitioned into Property Management and worked my way up to Assistant Manager, overseeing two rental properties. I stayed active, with weightlifting, hiking, volleyball and kickboxing. Staying active helped my mental health, and manage pain that would flare up from an Lower Lumbar injury I sustained from a car accident. My diet and fitness routine started to become inconsistent as work became stressful and no longer something that brought me joy. I began to battle with bouts of depression and overworking myself led me to treat my body poorly and mind poorly. Not long after I was fired from my position in Property Management. Thank Goodness!
Mace and Massage

I took the summer months to myself to figure out what was next. All I knew was I need to be back in nature and get back to training. I picked up odd and end farm jobs, cleaning houses and tending to animals. I spent many nights camping and many mornings lifting and boxing. I began to see the body and movement in a different light. I had always known form a young age that I was put on this Earth to help people. I didn't see myself as a trainer (yet.) But I did see myself becoming a healer, and that's what put me on the path to Massage Therapy. A woman who's house I cleaned inspired to apply, she was a Medical Massage Therapist who owned her own business. She said "I believe in you, you are too smart and talented to be cleaning my house." I signed myself up the very next day. A year later, I was graduating with a 3.9 grade point average and perfect attendance. The science behind massage and the endless modalities within the practice have provided me with a deeper understanding of movement, which would eventually help me in my career in fitness.

classes during the day and work at night, left little room for movement. Around the same time that I started school, I was introduced to the Steel Mace. Picking up the Mace for the very first time made me feel like a warrior picking their weapon. The steps and Mace moves were so unlike anything id ever experience. I was hooked. Luckily the gym that offered the mace classes allowed for 24 hour access to the gym. This meant school during the day, work at night and midnight Mace sessions. This was more than working out for me, this was a release, the way I was taught ho to move with the mace wasn't just about reps and strength building. It was about creating, building patterns and utilizing my emotions as a driving force intstead of holding them in. Not only was I maintaining the health of my body, I was maintaining my mental health as well.

My health and wellness increased 110% because of the Steel Mace and how it allowed me to be me. My dedication to the practice opened up the opportunity to coach and develop the system now known as Steel Mace Flow.

Shortly after graduating from massage school I attended my first training thought the Onnit Academy in Austin Texas. Between this first of many certifications and the mentorship of my coach I realized I was being called to do more. I made the decision to leave New Mexico behind to pursue a career that would allow me to blend both of my passions together.

3 years later, I still live in Austin and I couldn't be happier. I dedicated to myself to building a company and the practice of Steel Mace Flow. The movement practice that my coach created has been instrumental to my growth in physical and mental well being. Steel Mace Flow gives me purpose in such a way that I am dedicated to see its success and longevity. I developed myself the role of Chief Operating Officer and currently oversee a the day to day operations of SMF and its sister company Mace Dojo. An online Steel Mace Gym.
